Assignment Management (Members)

Members (parents/guardians, and players) can now be assigned by a team official to a particular task at an event (e.g. half-time snacks or net setup/teardown for a game). They can also self-assign themselves to a task for an event, or decline an assignment that a team official assigned to them.

On the Web

Assignments for individuals are presented and managed in the PowerUp Member Zone. Guardians and players can see their assignments in three places:

  1. On the Home page, in the player widget for the next event, presented under the Attendance box (if applicable). It includes the assignment type and the note (underneath) that may have been entered by the team official.
  2. On the Team Hub page, under the Schedule tab
  3. On the Team Hub page, under the Assignments tab


Members may have been directly assigned and notified of an Assignment by team staff, which they can either accept (no action needed) or decline, or they can self-assign to pre-set Assignment Tasks.

 

NOTE: All assignments are publicly visible. All volunteers can see each other in the event listing.





 

 

Once on the Assignments tab:

  1. Accept an Open Assignment: Click on the yellow hand icon to accept the assignment

  1. Self-Assign to an Unlisted Task
    1. Click the Volunteer button of the desired event
    2. Select the desired assignment type
    3. Click the Save button

  1. Decline an Assignment: click the red X on the assignment
    1. If the member was assigned by a team official, the assignment reverts to an open assignment
    2. If the member self-assigned to the assignment, the assignment is deleted

 


Email Notifications

Settings relating to notifications (email only; mobile app notifications are managed in the app) can be configured via the Notifications Preferences tab under the Account Settings menu item in the Member Zone.





In the Mobile App (PowerUp Connect)

Assignments for members are presented and managed on each event in the mobile app (accessible via the Family and Individual Calendars). Here, members can self-assign to Assignments and decline Assignments assigned to them by a team official. They may have been directly assigned and notified of an Assignment by team staff, in which case if they wish to accept no action is required.


Members can see their assignments:

  1. On the Family and Individual Calendars with small icons on the right
  2. On the Assignments tab of individual events

 

NOTE: All assignments are publicly visible. All volunteers can see each other in the event listing.


To accept an open assignment:

  1. Navigate to the desired game/event using the Family Calendar or Individual Calendar.
    1. Note: the ‘Next Event’ displayed immediately after logging into the app can also be used
  2. Click the “Assignments” icon in the navigation bar
  3. Click the desired assignment.

  1. Change the assigned Volunteer from * Available * to yourself and click “Save.”
  1. The assignment will now show as assigned.
  2. Later, if you need to decline the assignment you can use the steps in the section above (“To decline an Assignment”) to do so.



To self-assign to an unlisted task:

  1. Navigate to the desired game/event using the Family Calendar or Individual Calendar.
    1. Note: the ‘Next Event’ displayed immediately after logging into the app can also be used
  2. Click the “Assignments” icon in the navigation bar
  3. Click the “Add Assignment” button
  4. Select the task and click the Save button
  5. The assignment will now show as assigned.
  6. Later, if you need to delete the assignment, you can use the “Delete” button on the Assignment page to do so. 




To decline an Assignment:

  1. Navigate to the desired game/event using the Family Calendar or Individual Calendar.
    1. Note: the ‘Next Event’ displayed immediately after logging into the app can also be used
  2. Click the “Assignments” icon in the navigation bar

  1. Click the assignment to be declined.
  2. This will present the details of the assignment. Use the red “Decline” button at the bottom to decline the assignment.
  3. A confirmation window will appear, detailing the assignment to be declined. Clicking the “Yes” button will confirm the decline.
  4. It will save, and the assignment will revert to being Available.


 

 

Mobile App Notifications

Settings relating to notifications (email and notifications for the app) can be configured in the menu under: Settings >> Notifications.
